**VideoObject-Markup** (Video-Schema) ist ein schema.org-Typ, der ein Video auf einer Seite beschreibt. Google verwendet die Angaben, um Videos zu verstehen und in Google Search, im Videomodus, in der Bildersuche und in Discover passender darzustellen.

## Welche Angaben braucht VideoObject?

Laut Google-Doku sind `name`, `thumbnailUrl` und `uploadDate` erforderlich. Empfohlen werden `contentUrl` oder `embedUrl`, `description`, `duration` im ISO-8601-Format (zum Beispiel `PT1M54S`), `creator` oder `author` und `interactionStatistic`. Die Property `description` ist seit Mai 2021 nicht mehr Pflicht.

Google beschreibt zwei Zusatzfunktionen. Für Key Moments gibt es `Clip`-Markup mit Start- und Endzeit oder `SeekToAction`, bei dem Google die Zeitstempel-Struktur der URL erkennt. Beide setzen laut Doku Videos von mindestens 30 Sekunden voraus, die sich per Zeitstempel in der URL ansteuern lassen. Das LIVE-Badge nutzt `BroadcastEvent` mit `isLiveBroadcast: true` und die Indexing API beim Start und Ende des Streams.

Schema.org ergänzt weitere Properties wie `transcript` und `caption`.
