**Search everywhere optimization** is a marketing term for making content findable wherever people search, not only on Google. It has no standard definition, and it is not a separate discipline with its own rules.

## What does it include?

Sources usually name video and social platforms such as YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, marketplaces such as Amazon, app stores, other web search engines such as Bing, voice assistants, local listings and AI assistants such as ChatGPT. Each platform has its own ranking logic and content formats. The working method resembles classic SEO: find the terms people use, prepare content for the platform, and measure visibility.

Agencies mostly use the phrase to describe a service that goes beyond classic SEO. Several sources recommend choosing only the platforms a target audience actually uses, and measuring results against business goals such as leads or sales. Claims about how much search happens outside Google are common in these articles but rarely come with a primary source, so treat them with care.

## Example

An outdoor gear brand publishes test videos on YouTube, maintains Amazon listings with the terms shoppers use, and checks whether AI assistants name the brand in buying recommendations. Optimizing the website for Google continues alongside.
