LocalBusiness schema is structured data from schema.org that describes a local company or branch in a machine-readable way. schema.org defines the type as a particular physical business or branch of an organization, for example a restaurant, a bank branch or a medical practice.

What does Google say?

Google uses the markup to show business details in Search and Maps, for instance in knowledge panels. Display is not guaranteed. Google’s examples use JSON-LD. The required properties are name and address (as a PostalAddress). Recommended properties include telephone, url, geo, openingHoursSpecification and priceRange. Where a more specific subtype such as Restaurant fits, it describes the business more precisely. The Rich Results Test can check the markup.

LocalBusiness inherits from Organization and Place and has subtypes such as Restaurant and Dentist.

Example

JSON
{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "LocalBusiness",
  "name": "Example Ltd",
  "url": "https://www.example.com/",
  "telephone": "+1 555 0100",
  "address": {
    "@type": "PostalAddress",
    "streetAddress": "1 Sample Street",
    "postalCode": "12345",
    "addressLocality": "Springfield",
    "addressCountry": "US"
  }
}

The example is invented. The details should match the imprint or contact page and the Google Business Profile (see NAP).
